So Long, 2021

Writer: AndreaAndrea

I know this post is a little delayed, but it’s still worth sharing because I believe I need to give myself a little recognition (this is something everyone should do for themselves, by the way - be your own biggest cheerleader). While I may not have achieved all of my goals this past year, I managed to accomplish a lot. And honestly, if deserves some acknowledgment by me. So… here it goes.

1. I maintained my weight goal and started to feel better in my own skin.

2. I did some traveling and saw some new places.

3. I taught Parker how to ride his bike.

4. I finished the pallet furniture for around the fire pit in the backyard.

5. I continued to practice having gratitude daily and taught Parker about what it means to have gratitude.

6. I took a chance and accepted a new job after a 16-year long run with my former company.

7. I enhanced my meditation practice.

8. I invested in things that make me feel good about myself and contribute to my overall health and wellness goals.

9. I surrounded myself with people who make me happy. 10. I started protecting my peace more and stopped allowing people to make me feel like my feelings weren’t valid.

These accomplishments may be small to some, but to me, it reflects the progress I have made and continue to make when it comes to being the best version of myself that I can be… not just for me, but for my son, too. To those of you who have set goals for yourself and have achieved them - even if you achieved what you would consider a small handful, even if you wished you would’ve accomplished more - I’m here to tell you to celebrate that shit. Recognize your wins … and be proud.
